Genevieve, a master tutor, has encouraged the literacy of students as young as age three by maintaining a nurturing environment for their continued enrichment. Gerald, a master tutor, is a retired high school teacher. Gerald spent over forty years teaching various subjects in two high schools; everything from Math and Science to History and even Latin and Spanish I. During this time, he also tutored helping numerous students gain a better understanding of the material, pass their courses, and regain their sense of pride and confidence. Since retiring from full-time high school teaching, Gerald has taught GED/HSE classes in all four subject areas. Gerald is currently an adjunct professor at Saint Peter's University as well as Hudson County Community College, where he instructs in both the Sociology and the Education Departments.

Glenn, a master tutor, returned to college in his early 50's. He earned a B.A. in literature from Ramapo College in 2011, and has gained certification as a NJ English teacher. He completed his student teaching in 2015, working at St. John's Academy (a k-8 Catholic school in Hillsdale, NJ) where he taught 5th graders reading, language arts and social studies. He has worked as a professional writing tutor, both privately and at Bergen Community College since 2008. He has extensive experience helping students (both English speakers and ELLs) develop effective study skills and improve the quality of their written assignments. Glenn is a mature, reliable, outgoing individual who works hard to get students focused and on-task. He is patient, and believes in bringing a sense of humor and a value-based philosophy to his work with students.

Gladys is a talented expert tutor. She received her Master's in Education from the College of New Jersey along with three teaching certificates including: Teacher of the Blind and Visually Impaired, Teacher of Students with Disabilities and K-6 Elementary teaching certification. Currently, Gladys is a 4th and 5th grade math teacher/learning specialist. At a young age, Gladys learned the importance of developing deeper and more meaningful relationships with her teachers and peers. She was a founding member of organizations both in primary school and in college dedicated to cultivating relationships, celebrating culture, and giving back to communities in need. Gladys believes that when we discover the strengths and skills that we have, then we can learn more about the world around us and how to navigate obstacles that come our way. On her free time, Gladys enjoys playing tennis and sitting at her craft station working on DIY projects. From experiences working and volunteering in different environments and with children of varying learning needs, Gladys has only grown in her passion to give back to the education system and inspire youth.

Greg, a master tutor, is a very passionate teacher. He treats all his students with love, respect, and care. He has been teaching for over five years and tutoring for over three years. Haian, an expert tutor, is a college student pursuing an Industrial Design degree and a minor in Applied Mathematics . He has years of experience working with kids as a counselor and tutoring in math from kindergarten to college level. With a relaxed and patient attitude that helps kids warm up immediately, he is proficient at taking the easy steps necessary to work up to more difficult problems. Madhvi, a master tutor, holds a B.A. from Montclair State University in business administration, with concentrations in economics and finance. She also holds an associate's degree from Bergen Community College in mathematics. Madhvi is currently employed as the Mathematics Tutorial Supervisor at the Cerullo Learning Assistance Center (CLAC) of Bergen Community College. Her responsibilities include hiring, training, and evaluating peer and professional tutors of mathematics. Madhvi also has experience tutoring mathematics. In her spare time, Madhvi enjoys cooking, playing board games, reading, and traveling with family and friends.

Hasan, an expert tutor, earned his BA in Biology from Rutgers University and is pursuing a career as a dental professional. He is a tutor at his university's learning center and has experience as a chemistry lab teaching assistant. His favorite aspect of tutoring is being able to relieve a student of their worries and assure them that they are completely capable of comprehending the material if they simply dedicate enough time to practice. Building a solid understanding of the basics is the key to success. Hasan can tutor general chemistry, organic chemistry, biology, algebra and test prep for the DAT. Natasha, a master tutor, holds a B.A. in cinema studies and elementary education from the University of Pennsylvania. She is certified to teach in NJ and also has her Wilson Reading Certification. This is Natasha’s fifth year teaching 3rd grade at a charter school in Newark, and she thoroughly enjoys every minute of it. Natasha has a huge love for children and believes that an education is one of the most important things a child can obtain. “Intelligence plus character- that is the goal of a true education” (Martin Luther King, Jr.). She has taught kindergarten and first grade, as well as tutored students ranging from k-7th grade. During the summer, she is a camp counselor at Orange Lawn Tennis Club. In her free time, she enjoys taking dance classes, partaking in outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, rafting, and rock climbing, and spending time with family and friends.

Heather, a master tutor, received her B.A. in psychology. She continued her education and obtained her elementary teaching certification in 1997. Heather is kind and patient. She has experience working with students K-6th grade. Heather has over 10 years of teaching experience working with Kindergarten-6th-grade, and she has served several Bergen County school districts. Heather has worked as an in-school support professional for every grade from Pre-K through high school, all subjects. Heather currently lives in Bergen County and loves to read and spend her spare time with her family.

Jaime, an expert tutor, received her Master's Degree in Education with honors from Saint Peter's University. She has spent more than 10 years working in the field of education. After 8 years as a family liaison for a pre-k program, she pursued her teaching career. Jaime holds a standard teaching certification from the New Jersey Department of Education, licensing her to teach k-6th grade students. She has completed teaching assignments in Jersey City and Byram, NJ working with students at various elementary levels. She absolutely loves teaching and designing creative lesson plans meeting a variety of preferred learning styles. In her free time, Jaime enjoys writing, journaling, and spending time on Lake Mohawk.

Nick, an expert tutor, is a graduate of Montclair State University with a degree in Molecular Biology. He has a passion for teaching especially topics pertaining to life sciences and he enjoys communicating information to others. Nick is currently applying to Medical School. Studying for the MCAT gives him a strong background with materials often covered in Science classes in schools across the nation. Nick has been both a peer tutor for fellow science majors, and a teacher of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at Montclair State. His background in teaching a variety of practices allows his to instill many traits such as discipline, creativity, and resourcefulness, to name a few needed to succeed in demanding environments in others. Jessica, a master tutor, is planning on graduating college this coming May magna cum laude. Her major is in general and special education (k-8) and English. All her life she has wanted to do nothing but teach. She loves the satisfaction of teaching a new concept or a difficult concept to a student. She is very passionate about what she does and this, along with her vast experience inside and outside the classroom, will make her an outstanding tutor. She is very knowledgeable with modifying the work in order to benefit the student and she is willing to go above and beyond in order for the student to retain and learn the information being presented.
She has experience with both general education students and special education students from grade levels kindergarten through eighth grade. As of right now, she has taught two general education kindergarten classes, and fourth, fifth, sixth and eighth grade special education classes.

Jessica, a master tutor, graduated cum laude from Arizona State University and has a passion for all things math related. She has a M.Ed. and a B.A. in psychology. Jessica is an Arizona native but moved to New Jersey to get a taste of the East Coast! Jessica is a certified teacher and has experience teaching 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade! Next year she'll be teaching 2nd grade in East Brunswick. During her spare time, Jessica enjoys working with her local animal rescue, running nearby trails, and exploring the "Big Apple."

She is certified as Teacher of Preschool, grades Prek-3, and as an Elementary School Teacher, grades K-6. Jessica has been teaching for 4 years and is currently teaching 4th-grade math and science. She is currently in graduate school for her Special Education Certificate. Jessica enjoys traveling and making memories with her son.

Joanna, a master tutor, has a Master's Degree in Curriculum Instruction. She is creative, patient, and has a love for teaching. Joanna has experience working in general ed and inclusion classrooms. She is currently a teacher assistant in Roseland, NJ. Joanna understands the importance of differentiating lessons based on students needs and learning styles. She provides individualized support and breaks down concepts that are easier to understand for a child who is struggling during a lesson. Joanna enjoys spending time with her two boys ages 8 and 10 working on STEM Projects.

Jennifer L. received her Bachelor of Arts from Baruch College in New York City in Psychology, with a special interest in Mind, Brain and Behavior, and Early Childhood Education. She completed her field work at Memorial Sloan Kettering in Childlife Psychology, where she honed-in her training in play therapy. After completing an extensive course of training, she began working as a Vision Therapist in Bergen County, NJ in 2011. As a vision therapist, she has devoted her time to helping individuals of all ages and varying developmental delays adapt to their visual world. She uses a differentiated instructional approach to tailor her teaching to match the students’ learning styles. She believes that all students can reach their learning goals, and she excels at adapting to fit the needs of each individual child. Jennifer has been married over 20 years and is a mother to a son who is a Sophomore at City College of New York, and a daughter who is a rising High School Senior. At 18 months, her son was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Learning to navigate and promote the social, emotional, and academic success of each of her two children has driven her to ensure that all children reach the academic goals. She is currently training in Orton-Gillingham Approach, and would like to provide academic support to children age 2 and up achieve academic success.

Jerry, a master tutor, has a BSW in Social Work from Indiana University. In addition, he served as a second lieutenant in the Army National Guard. He then pursued his career in the field of education. Jerry has more than twenty-eight years of experience. He has an Elementary K-6 teaching certificate, Middle School 4-8 Language Arts/Social Science, English 6-12, as well as a Teachers with Students with Disabilities teaching certificate.
Interestingly, Jerry even co-authored the book, "Your Child, My Student." He believes his role is to aid children to reach their full potential and he views teaching as an honor and a privilege. Jerry enjoys spending time with his three children and has enjoyed coaching basketball.

Joshua, a master tutor, earned his A.B. from Rutgers University in 2003, Joshua went on to work towards a M.A. In 2011, earning it Kean University. Being the consummate student, he did not stop there. Currently, Joshua is back at Kean University and is a candidate for his Ed.D., with an anticipated graduation date of May 2018. Passionate about finding unique technological methods to teaching, his doctoral dissertation focuses on effective uses of technology in the elementary classroom; an extension to his master's thesis. Joshua has a passion for teaching and the world of academics. Having taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade, Joshua possesses a wide range of knowledge in elementary language arts, math and science. Each day, he approaches teaching as a new adventure and works to create the most interesting, and interactive, instructional methods that he can deliver. His one-of-a-kind teaching approach has brought him many accolades. For the school year of 2013 and 2014, Joshua earned a "Perfect Award" from his district as a teacher of excellence. Along with that, he has coached several students to perfect scores on the mathematics section of the NJASK. Kaitlyn, an expert tutor, is a graduate student at Fairleigh Dickinson University, working towards her Masters in Education and Special Education certification. She received her BA in Psychology, where she was able to focus on child and adolescent development, and theories of learning. Kaitlyn is originally from NY where she was a PASE summer teaching fellow as well as an Assistant ELA instructor for the Boys Club of NY. Her passion is teaching kids how to be confident, engaged learners.

When she is not focused on education, Kaitlyn enjoys cooking, swimming and staying involved on campus. She has two rescue dogs! She also speaks Spanish and would love to learn a third language.

Katelyn, a master tutor, has been working in early childhood education for over six years. Katelyn loves working with young children, and helping them succeed in every possible way! As a early childhood educator in Kenilworth, Katelyn has been able to work with a variety of grade levels, and has a strong background in reading and language arts instruction. On a daily basis, Katelyn has the opportunity to implement different learning strategies in her classroom (such as Smart Boards, interactive tables, writing workshop, Apple products, and everyday math) so the students can learn topics in various ways. Professionally, she has worked as a reading teacher in California, and written language arts and reading curriculum for the elementary and junior high school level. She always strives to be the best teacher she can be, and aims to help her students to achieve their best as well. In her leisure Katelyn enjoys, reading, yoga, and spending time with her husband and baby girl.

Kathryn, an Expert Tutor, has a B.A. from William Paterson University and a M.A. from Caldwell University. She has experience working with children from kindergarten up through young adults. Most of her experience has been working with children and young adults with learning differences. Currently, Kathryn is pursuing a Master's degree in school counseling. Her experience includes working with lower elementary school students (K - 2nd grade) as an instructional aide. For two years, Katheryn worked with middle school age students as an Applied Behavioral Specialist in Morris School District. She enjoys working with kids, making learning fun and interesting. Kathryn loves playing sports and video games in her spare time.

Kelly, a master tutor, received her BA in Communication Studies from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, and her Masters of Education from The College of Saint Elizabeth. Kelly has been teaching 4th and 5th grade ELA and Math in the same school for 10 years. She enjoys tutoring to help her students reach their full potential and excel in all subjects.

Kenya, a master tutor, graduated from Ramapo College of NJ and received her teaching certificate from Montclair State University. She has been an educator since 2011 where she has worked with pre-school age to 5th grade students. Kenya is currently a 3rd grade teacher in Newark New Jersey where she works with a diverse group of students. This includes their learning abilities, learning styles, as well as their background. When it comes to working with young scholars, Kenya implements best practices when in the classroom and while tutoring. She identifies the learning style and need of a student so that she can differentiates instruction for each student. Kenya also uses reader’s/writer’s workshop, guided reading/CLI, number talk and interactive materials (just to name a few) to engage her students in learning. As an educator, Kenya strives to be the best for her students and bring out the best in them!

Daria, an expert tutor, graduated from William Paterson University with a B.A. in communications and education. She fell in love with teaching after she worked her first job out of college as a teacher's assistant. Ever since, been working in the field of education; working with elementary aged children, especially students with disabilities as a special education teacher in Mahwah and Franklin Lakes.

Currently, she is in her second year as a special education teacher in Glen Ridge. She teaches resource language arts and mathematics to kindergarten through second grade students using a multi sensory approach. Her priority is to create a safe learning environment, where young learners try their best, build confidence, and take chances.

Currently, she is working towards earning her graduate degree through Augustana University with a concentration in reading. She is eager to learn more and implement newly taught strategies in school and during tutoring sessions!
